Nerd Theories: There Will Be Changes to The Avengers Lineup

By this point I think it is fair to say that Marvel is coming out with a lot of superhero films over the next few years and that means a lot of new characters will be appearing on the big screen for the first time. This is an exciting prospect because a lot of people's favorite heroes will be getting the attention they deserve, but that also means there is a potential for their favorites to not get the attention they deserve; with so many characters coming out, how will Marvel balance between the established cast and the newcomers? Well lucky for you guys I have a theory.

Fancast: The Next Spider-Man

Well this has been a crazy two days hasn't it? What with Marvel announcing that Spider-Man will be in Marvel films and now it is confirmed that Andrew Garfield won't be back, there is only one logical question to ask: Who the hell is gonna be Spider-Man? Well disembodied voice I'm glad that you asked because I have a few suggestions on who could fill that role.

Spider-Man To Join The MCU

From Marvel:
"(Culver City, California, and Burbank, California February 09, 2015) – Sony Pictures Entertainment and Marvel Studios announced today that Sony is bringing Marvel into the amazing world of Spider-Man.
Under the deal, the new Spider-Man will first appear in a Marvel film from Marvel's Cinematic Universe (MCU). Sony Pictures will thereafter release the next installment of its $4 billion Spider-Man franchise, on July 28, 2017, in a film that will be co-produced by Kevin Feige and his expert team at Marvel and Amy Pascal, who oversaw the franchise launch for the studio 13 years ago. Together, they will collaborate on a new creative direction for the web slinger. Sony Pictures will continue to finance, distribute, own and have final creative control of the Spider-Man films.
Marvel and Sony Pictures are also exploring opportunities to integrate characters from the MCU into future Spider-Man films.

This is a huge get for Marvel, Sony and fans of Spider-Man as now we get to see a fully realized Spider-Man in action, one that is able to interact with the Marvel Universe on a level we haven't seen before. The possibilities this opens up are endless and it will help to usher in a new age of Marvel Cinematic Heroes. Can you imagine Spider-Man and Black Panther on the same team? Or Spidey and Captain Marvel doing a buddy film thing? Not to mention Spider-Man will be able to have his own solo films and pick and choose which Marvel characters he wants to involve.....God I want this to come out right now. No idea who will be playing the webslinger but I'm totally gonna do a fancast so look forward to that, or don't it's a free country. I am saddened that Captain Marvel and Black Panther will be pushed back to 2018 but Spider-Man is my all time favorite and seeing him finally being done right ( this means no more teenage soap opera whining bs) is something I, along with others, deserve to see as soon as possible.

If you want to see how Marvel could possibly work him into the MCU, I made a suggest not to long ago on how it could happen. Today is a good day for comic book fans, now we can focus our attention on the X-Men...we coming for you FOX!

Daredevil Series Trailer

Released earlier today, Netflix's Daredevil series has it's first official trailer (I'm not counting that teaser from yesterday) and I gotta say it looks good. From what the trailer shows we can expect a dark, gritty Daredevil that is clearly drawing inspiration from the Frank Miller run and I am totally for it. It's obviously gonna be a bit more toned down in the spectacle department since Matt isn't some laser shooting, lighting throwing hero; but a more grounded Daredevil is typically for the best because we get to really see just how dangerous the streets of Hell's Kitchen can be and that ramps up the tension a bit too. I know I have a post talking about how I hate realism in comic book films/tv but the kind of realism happening in Daredevil isn't the type I hate.

Look, just watch the trailer and get hyped for it ok?

The Nerd Asks:Realism In Comic Movies and Shows?

Last night I was watching "The Flash" ( if you aren't watching this show you need to because it's really good) and during the end credits we got a sneak peek at an upcoming villain. After having a 10 minute nerdgasm at the reveal, I started asking myself this question: Do we really need realism in comic movies and shows?
