Games that need a reboot: Fighting Force

It was fun but really bland looking
I have very  fond memories of my gaming youth, particularly of Fighting Force (more particularly throwing vending machines at people) due to the fact that it was one of my first Playstation games and that I could beat the unholy crap out of people. The game never really took off as a series and only had 1 sequel ( which took out everyone but Hawk Manson because....reasons?) but I think it's semi cult status makes it the perfect candidate for a next gen reboot.

For those of you who didn't play this game (you should feel bad, no I don't care if you weren't born in that era), Fighting Force is about...a fighting force..who fight...with force...and something about saving the world from exploding or something. look it was the 90's and the graphics were new so the story didn't really matter..besides its a 3D beat em up in the vein of a Final Fight so who really cares about story anyways? It's a fighting game with super moves and stuff so why not just ramp that up to 11? I want Platinum Games ( Bayonetta, Vanquish) to be the ones at the rein because I trust them to deliver satisfying over the top action, which this game would surely benefit from. Each character has their own special moves and I really think PG could take them to the next level. The original game featured 4 characters (Hawk, Ben, Mace and Alana) and you could play with 2 characters at a time, but if we are going to bring this franchise back we have to go bigger, I want 4 player co-op and massive street battles and epic boss fights, these types of things are right up PG's alley. Another thing I want them to do for a potential reboot is to completely ignore the previous iteration and start something brand new, like they don't even need to have the characters behave the same; in fact, they should give each character all new attacks, costumes, personalities ( well they didn't really have much to start with) and make the game an action rpg type because that would give a reason for each character to play differently.

Look there really isn't much to say about the original Fighting Force as it's as basic as can possibly be, but it is so raw and malleable that I think that there is some real potential for it as a rebooted franchise, I mean how many 3D Final Fight like games do we have nowadays? The world could use some more 4 player co-op beat em up action...also look at this and tell me this isn't awesome.
I saw that video and I instantly wanted to throw a vending machine at a man in a suit...I think that's going to be my new rating metric for movies and games.
