The Nerd Reviews: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

By now you've either seen the film or have heard/seen all the reviews for the film but you haven't heard mine...until now...well technically I'm writing it so you would see not hear it. Ok enough of the awkward humor, on with the review.

5 Thoughts I got from Batman vs Superman Trailer

So I've been waiting for this trailer for quiet sometime and it seems like it was well worth the wait. There are ton of little things in this trailer that make my inner and outer fanboy squeal out in joy,  allow me to share a few of  them.

1.  This is post  A Death in the Family

Jason Todd's suit
Even though Batman is first appearing in BvS next year, within the universe he's been active for sometime and the screen grab of the trailer pretty much cements that fact. For a little backstory, "Death in the Family" is the name of the storyline where the Joker takes Jason Todd (the 2nd Robin) prisoner and tortures him; eventually killing him in an explosion. Now if this suit does indeed belong to Jason then that means that Batman and Joker already have an established history. I am surprised that they would go that route since Jason has never been used in film before but that does lead to a possible Red Hood appearance, which is totally awesome and should happen.

2. Wonder Woman actually looks kick ass

Its about damn time
Not gonna lie, I was apprehensive with how they would do Wonder Woman since they went the supermodel look and not the Serena Williamsesque look I wanted but I will say that I have no issues with how she looks. Diana is stunning in her civies and looks like she is gonna raise all kinds of hell in her iconic warrior costume. I hope she says "Hera give me strength" because that would just be super cheesy and I like that stuff.

3. Drawing from multiple storylines

I'm getting a Red Son vibe here
First we have "A death in the family" and now we have some elements of Red Son being worked in here. I could be totally wrong here but it seems as if Superman may wield a level of control over the police/military, similar to that in Red Son (but to a lesser degree obviously). The BvS version of Batman also seems to view Superman the same way that Red Son Batman does and even has a plan to take him out ( so it seems). Either way I think it'll be interesting to see just how all this comes together. Also, when the hell does Batman go out in the day time?

4. Kryptonite exists in the DCCU
I wish that hairstyle didn't though
Well it was only a matter of time before they introduce this into the universe but it looks like Lex will be the one to use it so now I'm really interested in seeing just how long Batman will last without this ace in the hole.

5. The Kent's are still really not a fan of humanity

Possibly the worst advice you could give your godlike alien son
I'm glad that Martha Kent is continuing the proud tradition of telling Clark that humanity is really worth anything, it's a staple of this new universe that  I want to see more of.

The real number 5. Bizzaro???
Shh he's sleeping
Ok so we know that Superman did a very not Supermany thing in the end of Man of Steel and snapped Zod's neck. Now, they could be using Zod's body as a way to make a serum to enhance soldiers or whatever but what if they tried to bring him back, things go wrong and bam we get Bizzaro. Yes I know Bizzaro is a Superman clone but given the situation this makes more sense....or as much sense as bringing a dead alien back to life can make.

Those are a few of the thoughts that I had watching this trailer. I still don't like Jessie Eisenberg as Lex Luthor but other than that it was a freaking awesome trailer.

That's that sh*t I don't like: Batman vs Superman

I'm sure by now you've all heard of the recent addition of Jason Momoa as Aquaman. Normally I would be super excited about characters finally making it to the big screen, but something about all the casting has been bothering me: what film are they making?
